Life is all about options!

Seems I have been chasing perfection for far too long and feeling so discouraged when I ultimately fail. There is no such thing as perfection or the perfect person. God uses our imperfections to use us in our walk of faith.

Being a more committed Christian is now the only goal I strive to meet. Do I have days that I fail the tests that I face? Absolutely. Do I fail as often as I use to? Absolutely Not. How do I grow? By going through the trials and tribulations of life and making better decisions or picking better options.

I now live for God and not to please Man. It is a hard reality when you have to face the fact that most of your decisions were based on man and not on God, but is getting easier as time marches on. God is the only friend who won't turn on you. Expectations of others use to nearly kill me as I had a hard time realizing that their expectations of me had nothing to do with me but were their burden to carry. I also had to learn that if I was offended or hurt by someone was it really them or was it my expectations of them. We, all of us, should never put our expectations on the shoulders of others.

I have also learned that the true me is the person I am when no one is watching. Living in a way that God is proud of! If I say I will, I will. If I give you my word it is worth something. Living with integrity is a goal of mine and I want my works to endure the fire and to keep my motives pure.

When life puts us through trials that is when we have to remember we have options. We can continue on, remembering that no storm lasts forever, and rely on God as all things are possible through him. (Phillippians 4:13). We can moan and groan, ask why me and let the situation completely destroy us forgetting that our survival rate is 100%. Do not let the devil make you think God has abandoned you. It is NEVER true. Matthew 5:45 reminds us that he (God) makes his sun rise on the evil and the good,k and makes the rainfall upon the just and the unjust. Good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people. But we have to remember, and sometimes it is so very hard, that on judgment day the sun will only shine on the good, the true Christians.

This world has gone completely wonky and what was once evil is being portrayed as good. I hear so many people saying they can't believe it, well I can! Isaiah 5:20 is our written warning. "Woe to them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Just because society is embracing things they truly shouldn't doesn't mean God has changed his opinion on anything he has demeaned evil. The saving grace is that everyone can ask for forgiveness and accept Christ as their savior. No one has to be lost but is a personal decision and no one can stand in for anyone else.

Once again we have options. To stand firm on God or to fall prey to society. It is a difficult line to tow as we try to live in this world but not be of the world. Being discerning of who you allow to be close to you is one very important line of defense. There is a huge difference between being friendly and being a friend. Proverbs 13:20 tells us to choose our friends wisely. The wrong friends will get you in trouble and break you down, good friends will teach you new things and build you up.

Immaturity is never a good trait in anyone, especially someone who claims to be a seasoned Christian. In these days we must act with maturity. Ephesians 4:14 states we are no longer to be tossed here and there by waves and carried by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming. Once again options!! Stand firm or be tossed around by the ever-changing whims of the world. In order for this option of standing firm to work, you will require a strong foundation and maturity.

Don't let Satan, other people, or any situation steal your joy! It is certainly acceptable to have sad moments, to deal with the grief of loss but don't live there. Once again you have options. You can work through the difficult times and come out the other side or you can remain stuck in your rut and miss out on all the blessings that are waiting for you on the other side.

We all have options, select wisely.
