Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and fallen sort of the glory of God.” When Satan gets your attention by trying to make you feel that you have done way too much wrong to ever be made right, remind him of this scripture.
God certainly did not sacrifice his only son to cover the sins of everyone else but not you. All – everyone, every man, every woman, and every child will have a problem with sin. 2 Corinthians 5:21 tell us “He made Christ who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf so that in Him he would become the righteousness of God.” We were made acceptable to God and can have a great relationship with him by his gracious lovingkindness if that is what your heart desires. He has made a way for us all but it up to us if we accept the offer or not. When you make the change from being part of the world to standing apart from the world, trials and tribulations are still part of your life and you have to learn to lean into God and not rely on yourself. Life doesn’t miraculously become problem-free, to be completely honest, my life became more difficult as the devil tempted me and hurt me all while attempting to draw me back to the world. The world will hate you, they hated our Heavenly Father, and they crucified him so they will attempt to do the same to us. We, thankfully, have Jesus protecting us and always providing us with a way out of every circumstance that the devil throws in our path.
As I was going through my Bible and searching on the internet, I came across a site that was entitled “30 Bible Versus the devil doesn’t want you to know about” under Active Christianity. I am not going to list them all but they are all worth reading. The five I have put in my arsenal of defense are as follows: James 4:7 “Resist the devil and he will feel from you.” Romans 8:31 “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Philippians 4:13 “I can all thing through Christ who strengthens me.” Psalms 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” Philippians 1:16 “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ”.
My paraphrasing of these five scriptures is to simply resist the devil with the power that God has provided to us and remember that our sins are far removed from us and we will be successful and do great works until Jesus returns. We just have to keep our eyes on God.
Even though the world may hate us, they are still watching us to see if this change is real and if our character has changed. Sometimes when people say they hate someone, if you dig down deep enough you may find that they envy what that person has but it is just easier to say the catch-all word of hate. It may not always be the case but envy and jealousy can take people to unhealthy places.
Denzel Washington said, “Some people will never like you because your spirit irritates their demons”. This rings very true to me as I used to be the one who didn’t like people because my demons were irritated. If this is why some people do not like me, I am certainly ok with it because God will use my spirit to his benefit.
Living in Peace and Love is a choice and life will try to steal both but with God at the center of your life, they will not be successful in their feeble attempts. Let your Spirit shine, it annoys the demons and bring a smile to God’s face. Win-win in my book.
